What is lifestyle portraiture?

Lifestyle portraiture captures people and their personalities. Images resemble real life, capturing the interaction between family members and creating beautiful memories. Our session together will be laid back, fun, and take place somewhere special to your family.

What should we wear?

Clothing choices are totally up to you and should represent your family’s style! Neutral colors tend to look best in photos and I suggest avoiding bright colors as these can affect skin tones. Coordinating outfits works well but matching is not real life. Make sure you wear something you can move well in!

What should we expect during our photo shoot?

During our time together, don’t worry about looking at the camera! I will always instruct you when you need to look at me. Our time together will be structured, fast paced, and enjoyable! All you have to do is show up on time, ready to have fun with your loved ones!

What should we bring?

I always recommend bringing water and snacks for young kids (bribery). If you have a little one, an extra outfit is handy in case things get messy!

What if my family does not cooperate?

Kids will be kids. Trust me, I know how it goes. This is why I start by taking photos of them in order to set a fun and playful tone for our session. If you have a young child that starts crying, don’t worry! Snuggles make for some of the best photos. Letting go will lead to the best types of sessions!
